Meet the Principal

Mrs. Buenning is the dedicated principal of Ralston Valley  High School. With over two decades of experience in education, Mrs. Buenning is renowned for her unwavering commitment to holistic student development.

Mrs. Buenning's journey in education began as a classroom teacher, where she cultivated a passion for nurturing the potential of every student. Recognizing the importance of a comprehensive approach to education, she pursued advanced degrees in educational leadership and administration. She has served as an educator in many capacities, including classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and as the principal of Ralston Valley High School since 2017.

As principal, Mrs. Buenning fosters a school culture that celebrates diversity, academic rigor and inclusive excellence. She believes in providing students with a well-rounded education that encompasses not only rigorous academics but also opportunities for artistic expression, athletic achievement and personal growth.

With two daughters who participate in multiple sports, athletics occupy much of the Buenning family’s leisure time. An athlete in her own right, Mrs. Buenning was a college athlete and has been inducted into her high school’s athletics Hall of Fame. When not attending her daughters’ sporting events, Mrs. Buenning enjoys traveling,  snowboarding and catching a weekend nap.
