SAT and PSAT

Wednesday, October 14th, all Junior and Senior students have the opportunity to sit for the PSAT-NMSQT (11th grade) or SAT (12th grade) here at Ralston Valley. Both 100% Remote and Hybrid students have been rostered into classrooms and must be physically present to participate. Participation in testing this Fall is a family-based decision. The PSAT-NMSQT is great practice for the SAT this coming Spring and top performers are eligible for scholarships. Students taking the SAT should reach out to colleges and universities, as well as potential scholarship organizations to understand their expectations around scores and participation in the test before making their final decision. Please have your student reach out to their counselor with any questions or concerns.
  • Student Check-In:
    • Seniors 7:15-7:30 AM - . Please arrive no later than 7:30 to get through screening and check room assignments in the lobby. You may enter through the main entrance or west doors.
    • Juniors 7:45-8:00 AM - . Please arrive no later than 8:00 to get through screening and check room assignments in the lobby. You may enter through the main entrance or west doors.
  • Registration & Testing Begins: SAT at 7:45; PSAT-NMSQT at 8:15 AM  
  • End Times for both testes Approx. 12:00 PM*

* Time is a best guess and we hope to have all students done around noon, however, we cannot guarantee an end time. If your student has qualified for extra time on these tests, their release time will be delayed 60-90 minutes.

All remote learners wanting to take the SAT or PSAT at RVHS must test in the building on this day. 

We will be following all health protocols for this test, including:
  • Masks must be worn at all times
  • Student health screening prior to entering the building
  • All rooms will have 15 or fewer students in them (room assignments are posted in the Main Lobby)

What to bring:

  • MASK
  • ID w/photo
  • #2 Pencil (no pens or mechanical pencils please)
  • Calculator (no phone or watches allowed)
  • Water (must be stored under desk), no other liquids are allowed
  • Snack for breaks (must be stored under desk)

DO NOT Bring:

  • Cell phone (leave in locker, car, or at home)
  • Smart watches that connect to phones, bluetooth, cell, or internet
  • Starbucks or any other brand (coffee, tea, milk, etc...)
  • Soda
